The engagement is announced of Miss Sophie Bolton, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs S. Bolton, "Oete," Pahiatua, and Mr Trevor Beetham, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Norman Beetham, of "Highmore," Masterton. Lord Denman. the new GovernorGeneral of the Commonwealth, with Laly Denman, arrived at Fremantle by the Omrah yesterday.
Mr J. Hammond, the aviator, who was recently operated on in Palmerston for appendicitis, has returned to Feilding. Mr Hammond is making excellent progress towards recovery.
