THAT INTERVIEW
MR FISHER'S UTTERANCES.
SEVERELY CONDEMNED IN SYDNEY. (Received Last Night, 9.15 o'clock.) SYDNEY, July 25. There has been much, adverse criticism iand many indignant protests by the Press l and puhlic men over the Hon. A. Fisher's interview, as published in the Review of Reviews. It is claimed that it is a misrepresentation, of Australian aims and feelings. Others characterise %a& statements as a. disgrace to Australia, and a heresy. A meeting of the British Empire League, after some strong speeches hod been delivered, decided to cable to Loudon emphatically repudiating the allegotdoni of disloyalty against the Australian people. The meeting also decided to arrange a demonstration, of protest. Several Labour members" of the Assembly condemned Mr Fisher's utterances. MR: HUGHES' SUGGESTION. MELBOURNE, July 25. The Hon. W. M. Hughes saye he would like to see iiie full text of Mr Fisher's, remarks. lie feels very sure that it would be found upon, enquiry that Mr Fisher's views, were quite other--than those which the disjointed .fragment® cabled out' would have us believe.
