WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.

MEETING OF DIRECTORS. The ordinary-monthly meeting of Dirifetors of the Wairarapa Caledonian Society was held in the Dominion Hall on Saturday last, Mr Alex. McLeod (President), in the chair. \ Correspondence was read and dealt With, and accounts amounting to 27 17s 9d were pased fsor payment. Sixty-eight new members were elected amidft apolause. This establishes a record for the Society: It was decided that for the nefct fortnightly "Pleasant Evenine." the .•Society enframe the Drill Hall for Thursday. 3rd August, and that the charge for non-members be 2ls each. It was decided tljat a donation of £1 Is be voted to the Y.M.C.A. in recognition of t>heir it kindness in lending' chairs for the, last; concert. Several members spoke in eulogistic terms *>f the work being done by the Association, which, they considered should be better supported by the townspeople generally. It was decided that an be held in September for the mirpose of winding up tihe series of fortnightlv concerts, and that ifc b#> a recommendation to the Ingleside Comipittee tjbaji same b? held on a date most convenient for the Ladies' Committee, provided same dws not clash with any other local function.
