THE VEND CASE.
DEFENCE PROCEEDING. (Received Last Night, 9.25 o'clock.) SYDNEY, July 21. In the Vend Caoe, Mr Mitchell, counsel for the defendant Shipping Companies, admitted that in 1906 and 1907 the people experienced a difficulty in obtaining t-he class of coal that was i wanted. That was in consequence of the exceptionally large demand for foreign markets, but there had been no suggestion of any difficulty since 1908.
