Hie.secretary of the South Island''' Association has bean advised by cable from London as follows: "Owing to the serious drought in Great Britain, and the .Continent and Siberia, and the heat in the United States and Canada, we' expect high .prices for dairy produce next .season." Mrf Scott takes this to apply more particularly to cheese. He does not anticipate that the butter market will exceed lid per lb, i.o.b; (a .satisfactory enough price for the New. Zealand producer), the London equivalent of .which will .be aibout 12£ d a lb wholesale.
