POLO PONIES AND CHILDREN.
Some reference to polo ponies, rams, and children was made last week by the Rev. John Ferguson;, when speaking at the annual meeting of the Fresh. Air League at the Sydney Town Hall.- "in dealing witb children," he said, "you are dealing with the first treasure of New South Wales. I noticed that at our great ram ishov* thoy have recorded sales
of thoso animals for £IOOO each, while at the same time we have a number of country people in Sydney with £IO,OOO worth of polo ponies. Let us take these rams and these polo ponies and place beside them one child. Which is of the mosi value-? Why, the child is worth ten times over the worth of the ponies and the rams. There is no comparison between them. You may have an unhealthy, weakly child, but you never know to what a strong, robust, and vigorous man he may grow, and of what great and glorious worth he may be to the world."
