ANXIOUS FOR A SETTLEMENT

LONDON, July 18

The Hon T. McKinnon Wood, in reply to Mr Jamos Hope, Unionist member for Sheffield, said the Government was most anxious, from every standpoint, including that of the Ottoman Governments, for a settlement of the Albanian troubles on liberal, generous terms. Any prolongation of the troubles would cause grave anxiety to the Poww;? who were desirous of seeing the • strength and credit of the Porte established, and peace secured in the Balkans.
