VALEDICTORY.
PRESENTATION TO MR CON VALLANCE.
(Spe-'al to the Age.)
Mr Con Vallance, who is leaving Bideford, for his new home in W'riroa, was the recipient c r .t, presentation from members of '.1.0 Bideford Sports Club on Saturday evening. The presentation took the form of a case of Loewe pipes. Mr Cars well, in making the presentation, referred to the excellent' qualities of/Mr Variance, both as a sportsman and a settlers The Club also took the opportunity of presenting Mrs Va! • lance with a dress-ing case. In rising to reply, Mr ValJance was greeted with applause. In a few wellchocem words he thanked the members for their gifts and good wishes for himself ana Mrs Vallance, He strongly urged the Olu'b to pull together (to make their meeting one of the host of its kind in the Wairarapa. As a parting gift he donated to the Club five guineas or a cup to that value. Supper was kindly provided by Mesdames' Percy, Wilkinson and McLean. Mr and Mrs Vallance leave for the North during the present week.
