SPARROW AND PIGEON MATCHES.
There was ia< large attendance of /shootistß and others) at the sparrow and pigeon matches on Mr A. Mat-t-haws' property at rtine Opaki on Thursday. In rbhe isparrow match, Messrs R. J. King (Mastertort) and J. Harvey (Rangrtumau) tied for first place with five fcills each, and divided the prize money. Messrs Buick, Wooding, Whittaker and T. Harvey tied for third place, and in the shoot-off tho former woii. The detailed scores are as (follows: (R. J.'King 5, J. Harvey 5, R. Buick 4, J. Whittaker 4, H. Wooding 4, T. Harvey 4, H.
