"HONOUR TO WHOM, ETC."
Now that the musical and elocutionary competitions in Masterton are concluded, it as fair to say that much of their success was due to the energy and enthusiasm displayed by the secretary <Mr William Gillespie), and the General Committee as a whole. The supervisor (Mr F. Shinn) and his assistant (Rev. A.' Hodge) rendered conspicudlJs service,' and the musical accompaniste (Mrs Montague) deserves a word of praise for the assiduity she displayed throughout. The judges, upon whom devolved the most onerous task of •all, did their duty conscientiously and well, though at times their verdict was not that of the general public. Mr C. N. Baeyertz was particularly helpful to the Committee with his advicel and assistance. . If any names deserve •singling out from, among the Oonimittee for their unremitting aftjtention to the detail work these are <the names of Messrs It. W. Hohson, J. Pryor, H. C. Jtobinson, G. C. Branson, and T>r Cook.
