WHAKATAKI BRANCH.

The monthly meeting of the Wihakataki branch of the Farmers' .Union was held <m July Bth, iat Wthakatakk Messrs Mason, J. H. Bariy, T. Pickett, A. Brightwell, R. Barton, and Win. He objected to having bis land, smothered with seed from adjoining lands. iMr Pickett claimed that compulsion, would unduly harrass the struggling settler. Section 9 of the Noxious Weeds Act was read. This section limits /the necessary area to be cleared in any one year, to mot less tban one-quarter chain round the boundary and inter"mediate fences.
