THE REVENUE RETURNS.

The rovenue returns for the quarter ending June 30th, which are published this .morning, make interesting reading. They ©how that, in all the great Departments of State, the revenue is buoyant, and that, in the aggregate, a substantial increase has been made over the corresponding period of last year. That the resources of the country are being developed in a satisfactory manner, and that the period of depression is past, is something for which the people should feel profoundly thankful. If it could ouly be said, that the administrative expenditure was on the decrease, there would not be much room for complaint. Unhappily, however, the cost of administration is being enormously increased, and the country feels that\it is hot .getting value for its money.
