GOVERNMENT GRANTS.
FOR MASTERTON COUNTY. At its meeting yesterday, the Masterton County Council decided to imake application ito the Government for grants for the following works : Waingawa swing (bridge (re-vote), £250; Mangarai Road, bridge over J Taueru river, (£ for £), £500; Wai-'i muiomapu road formation (£ for £), / £200; Mangaparuparu Road, nietall- \ ing bad places, £200; Kariwhatoaipa J road, improving and extending form- | ation, £150; Miki Miki Road, metalling, £SO; Glemlean road bridge, £300; Columba road bridge (£ for £), £600; Kaka-aniu road extension, £200; Alfredton-Waber road, £ for £ up to £2OOO, to complete metalling to the Akitio County boundary; Hutewai 'Road, £4OO to supplement, loan of £IOOO for metalling; Waihoki road £4OO to supplement loan of £IOOO for meiaJling.
