PLURAL VOTING.

It is understood that one of the subjects to be discussed at the forthcoming Counties Conference in Wellington is that of plural voting at County elections. It may not be generally known that, whereas the one-man-one-vote principle obtains in all municipalities, the plural vote arising from property qualification exists in the Counties. There is a growing feeling in the dominion that .such an anomaly should not be allowed to exist. Why, it is asked, should a principle which is held to be .good for the towns, be bad .for the country?
