THE RACING COMMISSION.
The. Ministry lias succeeded in casting the responsibility of reducing the days of racing in the Dominion upon a Royal Commission. This, however, is only a temporary expedient. It will see the Ministry over the eleotaons, and that is all. The Act under which the Commission, was set up provides that the power to grant or refuse totalisator permits shall next year revert to the iMinister of Internal Affairs.. The same old political dodge. It. will be in the power of Ministers next year to rewa<rd those districts which have voted night, and to penalise those which, have not. A nice state of things, to be sure! But "Liberal" to the core. The name of "Liberal" in this country is already synonymous with -crawl."
