MASTERTON FISHPONDS.

MAY POSSIBLE BE RETAINED. A committee of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society Council, consisting of the Chairman (Mr Tripp),. Messrs Sladde-n, Rutherford, W. H. Beethajn and two others, on Saturday paid a visit of inspection to the Masterton fishponds and hatcheries, the leas© of which falls in next year. After inspecting the grounds, upon which a considerable sum of money has been expended, it is understood that the Committee decided that if the grounds could be acquired at anything like a reasonable price, they should be purchased. This will be very welcome news to Masterton.
