Association on Saturday, Mr James McGregor paid he had just a little'doubt as to whether the young men of the district would avail themselves of the opportunity to learn shearing. He instanced the experience in regard to corn-stacking, when liberal prizes were offered and there was no response. He had asked two young men, "Aren't you going to compete?" One of them replied, with a shake of the head. "No! It's too jolly hard work. Dad can-do it if he likes." The stacking competition had fizzled out.
