THE PAHIATUA SEAT.

Mr Samuel Bolton, presumably with the concurrence of the leaders of the Reform Party, has announced himself an Opposition candidate for the Pohiatua seat at the forthcoming general election. Mr Bolton has been, identified with the public life of the Pohiatua district for a number of years, and at the present time is Chairman of the Pahiatua County Council. He has large property inintersts in the Forty - Mile Bush, and hasi done a great deal to foster the dairy industry. It as unfortunate, perhaps, that he should belong to what is termed the "landed" class. His sympathies, however, is largely with the weak and the afflicted, as is evidenced by the interest he has displayed in, hospital and charitable aid matters, and he should give a good account of •himself 'at the polls.
