MASTERTON HOMING PIGEON CLUB.
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held its annual smoke concert and presentation of prizes in the Druids'' Hall last evening. Mr W. C. Perry presided. During the evening the following toasts were duly honoured:—"The King," proposed by the chairman; '"Eh© Homing Club," proposed by Mr G. R. Sykes, responded to by the chairman'. ' (Special reference was fee made to the help given to the. Club by the A. and P. Society during the past season). "The Winner: of Trophies," proposed by J. Bradbury, responded to by J. Dixon, A. Miller and W. Gouriay; "Donorrof Trophies, proposed by J. Sutherland, responded to by P. Gilbert, J. Dixon., G. R. Sykes and W. Lett; "The Press," proposed by A. Miller, responded to by P. Gilbert; "The Ladies," proposed by G. Sykes, responded to by W. Horniblow; "The Performers," proposed by J. Bradbury, responded to by A. Long. During the evening songs and recitations were kpndly contributed by the following:—W. Lett (2), W. .Gouriay, G. R. Sykes (2), A. Miller, W. Horniblow, A. Dixon, DWalsh (2), and A. Long (2). Mi- J. Gray kindly presided at the piano. The trophies were presented by the chairman as. follows: — The Der~ by, won, by S. Hoar, hot water kettle presented by the Clu!b; The Cup, i won by W. Drake, presented by Rangi Kerehoma; Ist Grand. Aggregate, i won by J. Dixon, presented by J. | Dixon; 2nd Grand Aggregate, A. j Miller, presented by the Club; Ist, Young Bird Aggregate, won by J." Dixon, presented by W. Lett; Ist Russell Race, won by J. Dixon, presented by J. Bradbury; Ist Wellington Race, won by J. Dixon-, presented by H. T. Wood; Ist Auckland Race, won by A. Miller, presented by G. Hyde; 2nd Russell Race, -won by A. • Miller, presented by P. i Gilbert; Ist Parenga race, presented' (by F. Rosson, won by W. Drake; Ist Christchurch Race, wons by E. Flanagan, presented by W.F.0.A.; Slowest velocity, won by J. Dixoni, presented by F. Rosson; Ist three races North, won by W. Gouriay, presented by Levin and Co.; Bracelet Race, won by W r . Drake, presented by the Club; 2nd in Bracelet Race, A. Miller, presented- 'by F.. Dupre; 3rd won by W. Gouriay, presejnted by the> Club. > trophies won during the year were not ready for presentation during the evening. The following have kindly donated trophies for next year:—H. Clarkson-, P. Gilbert, Dixon, W. Lett, J. Bradbury, ~E. Richards, F. Rosson, 0. Perry and Sykes. The evening was brought to a close by the singing of "Auld Lang I Syne."
