ALLEGED ATTEMPTED BURGLARY.
AT MAURICEVILLE EAST. (From Our Mauricevalle Correspondent.) An attempt at burglary wa« "n.ide here between Saturday evening and the early hours of Sunday, at ihe schoolmaster's residence. The kitchen window was prized open with such force that a strong lock was broken and twisted out of shape, one piece being found in the middle of the room, while the bottom sash bore the tell-tale marks of a jemmy. Evidently the .intruder wa-s disturbed, or he was afraid the noise he had made had awakened the inmates, for he decamped without further ado. The schoolmaster, who had been away on a holiday, only returned on Saturday.
