LORD STRATHCONA.
RESICNINC HIS POSITION. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, July 1. Sir Wilfrid Laurier has announced that Lord Strathcona will shortly resign his position as High Commissioner for Canada in London. (Lord Strathcona. who is 91 years of age, has been High Commissioner for Canada since 1896. He was born in Scotland, but entered the service of the Hudson Bay Company at an early age, and was afterwards in the Dominion Parliament. He was knighted in 1886. and created a Baron in 1897.)
