This morning, throughout 'ho Commonwealth of Australia and .the Dominion of New Zealand, the members of the Australian Mutual Provident Society received the Bonus certificates for the year ending 31st December, 1910. The cash surplus available for distribution, is £839,602, which sum will provide reversionary additions to the policies amounting to £1,500,000. Such a result speaks ,:■ volumes for: the careful and eoomomi- - cal managemenrt of this .great' institution, the'name,of which now becomes : a household word throughout the Commonwealth and the . Doinin- • ion. ■••"..•■' . -■• • <■■ The issue of the bonus certificates is co-flnoident with the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of the New Zealand branch of the Society, and the success that has been achieved in the Dominion can only be described as phenomenal. On July Ist, 1871, when the branch was established, the total policies on the boobs were 1045, assuring £496,790, and there were at December 31st last' 40,498 policies in force on the branch books, assuring £11,235,969, which, with bonus additions of £2,404,113, makes a total assurance of £13,640,082, equal to nearly £l4 per head of the total population of the Dominaon.
