CORRESPONDENCE.
I "IT'S COLD." The Editor.] Sir, —A few alights ago . theatregoers left the Town Hall, Masterton, and had to face a howling gala of wind, and rain. One gentleman went to the Post Office to get his letters from his [private box before going (home. Just as he got to the entrance a .man standing in the Post Office recess called out, "Hi, Mister, come here!" Our theatre friend, who was wet and shivering, went up the steps f to find that ihe was. faced with. the query, "Are you sweatiin,' " Now, Sir, I think you will agree' with me tliat there are worse greetings than the expression "It',s tcold," that you object to. . A few words* of greeting in passing can do no lharm. It does not do to be in too imuoh of a hurry, -like the Irishman who said "Be ivid yea - , be wid yer— I haven't time to say, God be wid ver!"—l am, etc., "OOLD." "IT'S COLD!" [To The~Editor.'] \ • . _____ ■>"'■.' i Sir,—Bumble apologies for (having mad© such a statement, but it is true, nevertheless; and might I suggest that the fact of people .making a .similar statement saves a great deal of time, for we always have our answer ready, knowing .what is going to be said by them. I, for j one, hope that people will continue ' in the way they have done, for I should not care to istop and listen to how the baby slept last night, how much Mrs Jones paid for her new coat, etc., etc.—lam, etc., "GOOD MORNING."
