LOWER VALLEY JOCKEY CLUB. The following is the report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Lower Valley Jockey Club on Wednesday next:— In submitting the Annual Report and Balance Sheet your Stewards take the opportunity of congratulating the members or. the improvement in the last race meeting. Last year's report showed a loss on the last meeting of about £4B, while last meeting just held its own, the receipts balancing the expenditure, nothwithstanding a very heavy increase of the Government tax. The balance sheet shows an increased debit balance, but this is in a large measure owing to members not having paid their subscriptions, and the stewards would like to point out the desirability of members being more prompt in this respect. The stewards are particularly anxious that every member should attend the annual meeting, as important business will be discussed. Your stewards and office-bearers retire as usual, and ;■•--! will be called upon to elect stewards and office-bearers for the ensuing year. Your stewards have applied for September 25th (Dominion Day) and 26th for the next meeting.—A. D. McLeod, I Chairman.
