Could produce a document re the sale of sheep at Puakau. Sixtyfour three-year-old heifers were inj eluded in the sale. Had transactions i with the Loan Company and the H.B. ! Farmers in stock. Had no dealings with other firms during the last six months. His sons had sold 100 head of cattle on - his behalf through the Loan Co. Had dealings with the Longburn Freezing Company in fat sheep. Stock had been removed from his property and had not been paid for. Did not report the matter to the police. His books were in.Masterton. Kept no book in which to record stock bought and sold. ' To Mr Cullen: Remembered his son selling six weanors at Makotuku. Frank Carr (son of bankrupt) deposed : Sold stock off the property during the last six months. Had the selling and buying of any stock. Kept ) the money for his own use. Was given a cheque for £133 by his father three months ago to cash. Gave his brother £IOO in cash to give to his father and kept the balance, which was for wages. Was not sure that his father-received the money. Was informed by his brother that he did. The cheque was drawn by the Longburn Freezing Company for fat sheep. , I To Mr Hoskings: Had not been oi: the farm since the cheque was cashed. ' Had been to race meetings. Had witnesses to prove that he gave his brother £IOO \ in Palmerston North. Cashed the cheque at the National Bank. His i father did not tell him to bank the ' money. J To Mr Lloyd: There was about 800 sheep on the property when he left Saw stock on \the hills running wild. ! There was no fence dividing the property leased and the Ruahine ranges. Had cattle running on two different blocks. There were at least 80 cattle on the farm. Several horses had been sold within the last twelve months by him. To his knowledge two valuable draught horses had died. Did not' of any horses being lost. Had received .money for two horses sold. Was notworking on a fixed wage.
