PAPUA ISLAND.
PROSPECTING FOR COAL. CONFLICT WITH.NATIVES. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, June 25. The Administrator of Papua reports that the Government party has completed its inspection of the interior, with the object of ascertaining if there are deposits of coal at the i unction of the Sorsbi and Curmick rivers. The party came into conflict with the natives,' some of whom Were killed, together with one of the party of carriers.
