THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. "A TALE OF THE AUSTRALIAN BUSH." The .currant programme was screened for the .last time to an appreciative audience at the Foresters' Hail last evening. The programme to be submitted tonight is a lengthy and attractive one. The "istar" film is the much, talked of rtale of the Australian bush. —"Ben Hal."—which is considered by Australian critics, to be the greatest piotusre of its kind ever produced. The istery deals with the career of one of the most daring and unfortunate *>f 'misguided mien, Ben Hall (a. isqnatter. before, he became a. member of. Giardiner's gang), arid is acted 'by. a. powerful 'casite; odmiposed of -tibie fliate-principals of the Nielli© Stewart, Bland • Holt, Meynell and Gunn, and, Bea'trice Hollowiay. Cbnipanies. The drama is full of sensational awe-inspiring and heart rending episodes* that famish AustraHiaii history with much (romance. The scenery all through is picturesque, and ithe photography is particularly good. A fine historical study will be found iin "Herodius," while "The Bridal Trail" vividly portrays life amongst iihe cowiboys. "The American and the Queen" tells a .story brimful of hiuman interest, and is found to (become a favourite w£t!h lovers of and pathos. "Make Believe" is a gorgeous oolotired creation by the Pathe Fneres Company. "A Trip Through Sardinia" would be of .interest to all while lin comedy-drama there : are some .splendid subjects in "Her First Long Dress," "Dancing. Powder," '"Kred of Life" and "Poor: Fido."
