Dean McKenna, of New Plymouth, celebrated the silver jubilee of his priesthood in the Taranaki Province yesterday. Mr Martin Kennedy has been appointed deputy-chairman of the Bank of New Zealand during the time that Mr Harold Beaudhamp will be absent from New Zealand.
A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Simon's and St. Jude's Church, Rongotea, by the Rev. H. Wilson on June 13th, when Miss Olive Ethel Tallott-, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Tallott, of Glen Oroua, was married to Mr Andrew Ruthven Buchanan, eldest son of Mr A. Buchanan, of Palmerston North.
