Great interest is (being manifested in the matches arranged by the Master ton Club for their tournament at the Towoi Hall 011, the 28tih inst., and in. addition to the contests already advertised, a five-round matcth has been arranged between our local middle-weight champion, V. Billington, aind W. Peed, a clever boxer from Palmerston North, who has recently joined the Carterton Club. Peed learnt his iboxing with Geoff. Wafchorn, the Australasian .welter eliannpion, so Ms credentials are substantial enough. "Dinny" Mtfrphy, the professional winner of the Welter Weight Championship of New Zealand, by defeating "Tim" Tracey at Blenheim, lias also been- engaged to box six rounds with the local instructor, F. Maloney. Murphy has only lately returned from Sydney, where the saw active service in the American Camp with Pnpke, "Cyclone" Thompson, and Co., iSo. his methods isliould be well worth watching-
