COMPULSORY TRAINING.

REGISTRATION IN MASTERTON. Saturday was the last day ef registration under the new Defence Act. Staff-SergeaiitnMiajor McCristeQl supplies the following figures for the Masterton district:—Cadets: Number, registered between the- ages of 14 to 15 years, 184; 15 to 16, 186; 16 to 17, 192; 17 to 18, 200; total,- 762. Teritorials.—lß to 19, 154; 19 to 20, 166; 20 to 21, 127; 18 to 21, at present serving, 104; over 21, at present serving, 23; total 574; grand total, 1336. In addition to the above several forms haw been returned for correction, and about fifty names have to be transferred from the company roll.
