MASTERTON COMPETITIONS.

SPLENDID ENTRIES RECEIVED. TJp till last mght, over two hundred entries had been received by the Masterton Musical and Elocutionary Competitions Society for the competitions to be held next month. As the time for receiving late entries has .been extended luitil Saturday next, this number will, in all probability, be considerably increased. The secretary is now busily engaged tabulating the enti-ies, which have come from all parts of the North Island.- The success of the competitions, from a musical and literary standpoint, is now' thoroughly assured.
