RIMUTAKA DEVIATION.

THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEMORIAL. The memorial prepared by the Masterton Chamber of Commerce, praying Parliament to take steps to bring about the deviation of the Riinutaka railway, was read at the meeting of the Masterton County Council yesterday. Cr Welch moved' that the Memorial be laid upon the table, to be signed by any person taking an interest in the matter. Cr Kebbell seconded.

Or Miller said that everybody should take an interest in so important a matter.

Or Welch agreed on this point. He said that the whole of the Council would necessarily sign the memorial.

The motion of Cr Welch was carried, and the memorial was signed by all present.
