PROFESSOR MILLS.
Professor Mills, of Milwaukee, U.S.A., who is to deliver a lecture in Masterton on Friday evening, is a self-made man. The subjects he deals wiifeh as lectures na-e: "Winning the World's Markets without War," '"Despotism or Democracy,!' and "Public Ownership of Monopolised Industries.'' Speaking at a public meeting held in the interests of peace in Auckland last Thursday
night, Professor Mills, who was a delegate at the recent Peace Cbnf erence in London, said: "I belong to a country which contains more Englishmen than England, more Germans than Germany, and more Swedes than Sweden." Yet there had been no suggestion of war between .the representatives of the great warlike nations living in the United States. If tlhey could keep the peace on tiheir side of the Atlantic, he thought it would be quite possible to keep 'it on the other. It will be a privilege for Masterton folk to receive a visit and a lecture from Professor Mills, who also happens to be a frequent writer for the magazine and newspaper press of America, and is an official investigator of the social and political life and conditions in New Zealand on behalf of the State Government of Milwaukee.
