AMUSEMENTS.

THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. There was "a good' attends nee at the Foresters' Hail last evening, to witness the usual change of programme. TQie subjects pz - esented i were of a very acceptable nature, and m the hands of .a clever operator like Mir Hanry.Harrison, the -"best possible-results were obtained. The whole success of a picture is in its handling by the operator, and only a skilled 'mechanic can produce the rock-steady clear pictures such as are presented nightly by Messrs Thompson aiid Payne. There were some 'good dramas in last night's bill-ofHfane, including two of the ever-ipopuiar . cowiboy series, viz., "The New Boss of Bar X Ramdh" and "A Silent Message." Both were interesting and exciting subjects, andi deiigliied tih'e audience. '"'A. Noble Sacrifice" and '.'The Master, Meejianic" were also well up to tie firm's usual drama standard. A pretty coloured picture,' "A Bear Hunt in Malay Peninsula," was full of excittement, while another very interesting film - was that showing, mountain scenery in Switzerland. There were two splendid comedydramas—"A Simple Mistake" and "The Stuff Americans are made of." In comics there was plenty to laugh at in "Wiffles and Ms Two Sons," "Aspirations of Gerald and Pency," and "Dirty Dick Gets a Bath." The programme will be repeated to-night. On June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th the firm will show a film—claimed to be better even than "Frank Gardiner, Bushranger"— depicting "Bushranging in Australia."
