HOME FOR INCURABLES.
THE SITE CRITICISED. ■'. Mr W. O. Buchanan, M.P. for Wairarapa, has geenerously dotnateed a sum to the "Wairarapa Hospital 'Board for the •' establishment of a home for incurables. The Board has decided to erect the 'home at Greytown, and at Thursday's meeting of of the Pahiatua Hospital Committee one of the members, Ma- W. W. McCardle, expressed the opinion that a more undesirable site for the home than (that on which it was proposed to. erect it at Greytowm could not he found. There was already a magnificent hospital building in that town, and now it was proposed to put up another magnificent institution there. The home was going to he erected on a low piece of stony ground. Mr Bolton facetiously remarked that the inmates would not long he '■incurable. , _..- " "' : ' ""'" .>'■' Mr McCardle said there was no : chance of. making a garden or keep!'ing a cow at the proposed site. He considered it a mistake erecting the home at Greytown—so near to Mastenton. Members generally expressed regret at hearing that the site of the home was not the most suitable.— Herald'.
