NATIVE LANDS.

MEETING OF OWNERS IN MASTERTON. Meetings of Native owner®, under Part XVIII. of the Native Land Act, 1909, were held in Masterton yesterday in respect to three blocks of land. One of these was the Motuwaireka No. 3 Block, situated on the East Coast, and containing 298 acres, for which Ann Eraser offered £4 per acre. The other blocks were the Waitutuma la. No. 7 Block, containing 7772 acres, and the Waitutuma Block, containing 4800 acres. For the latter, which is situated at Cape Paliser, the Government offered £1 2s 6d and 7s 6d per acre respectively. The Natives refused each offer, and the meetings were adjourned until the next sitting of the Court.
