AMUSEMENTS.
THOMPSON-PAYNE PiCTURES. The new programme at the Foresters' Hall last evening \vias an excellent one, and the large audience present sliowed their appreciation in no uncertain manner. There Avas a variety of subjects, the photography being excellent (including coloured studies), and the matters upon which the pictures were built were substantial, and showed signs of having been carefully thought out. Among the dramas "The Price of a Victory" Avas a capital military story of the days of Napoleon. "The Heart of au Indian" was one of the everpopular Indian stories*, which held the interest of the- audience throughout. A .splendid piece of photography and of an instructive as Avell as exciting nature depicted a big fire in Moscow. Motor boat racing, for the Avorld'is championsluip was a capital film, shoAving the fastest motor boats in existence tearing through the water at a terrific pace. There were tAVO exceptionally good 1 comedies in the programme, viz., "Their First Misunderstanding," and "Pleasures of Country House Life." A number of other first-class pictures were presented, including "Tom Reece, the billiard champion, at play," "The Vote that Counted," (a political drama), "Farcessa" (Italian drama), "Mining in Africa" (industrial), "Our Pets" (animal study), "Wax Modellers" (industrial), "Tweedledum, Aviator" (comic), "Victliim of Tontolini" (comic). The programme Avill be repeated this evening. . The usual children's matinee will be held on Saturday afternoon-.
On June 22nd, 23rd and 24th, Messrs Thompsion and Paynie will show what is claimed to be the greatest bushran 2:1112; picture am product; viz.,- "Busbrangina; in Australia."
