I MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale, held yesterday, as under: —Our yarding at Sohva.v was confined to sheep, we catalogued no cattle. Hoggets met a readier sale, ranging in prices from 7s 3d to 9s for fair to good, culls 4s 4d; empty ewes were backward in condi- j tion but sold under the hammer a+ i late ruling prices ranging from 4s 9d! to 7s 6d. We offered no good wethers, I but culls made 9s 4d; fat ewes had good competition, making as high as 13s; plain and unfinished, 10s 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—We submitted a rather light, entry of sheep. The quality, with the exception of g. few lots, was inferior, and rates in consequence were low. The tone of the market generally was dull, unless for any extra good lots. In fats, a few medium wethers made ■l4s 9d; ewes, 12s; lambs, 10s; very forward ewes, 10s 6d; medium, .7s to 8s; store wethers, lis 8d; small, 8s 6d; best lambs, 8s lOd; others; 6s 6d to 7s; poor conditioned ewes, 4s to os. In cattle the entries were confined, to cows. One pen of small fats realised £5 10s; stores £2 12s 6d to £3.
PAHTATUA STOCK SALE. i Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows : —We offered a large yarding of sheep and a few pens of cattle to a moderate attendance of buyers. Competition for Liiecp was decidedly slack, but, however, we disposed of the bulk of the yarding, although values for most classes were again easier. Quotations, —Fat wethers, 13s 6d; 2 and 4 tooth wethers, 9s lid to lis 6d ; small wethers. 7s 6d to 8s; fat sheep, lis; sound mouth ewes in lamb, 7s id to 9s 4d : forward empty ewes, 5s Id to 6s 6d ; store.ewes, 3s 3d to 4s 6d; good woolly lambs, 7s 2d to 7s 7d; shorn lambs. 3s 3d to 4s lid; 18-months steers, £3 7s 6d; heifers in calf, £3 18s 6d; springing heifers, £6 ss.
