Earth radiation : 42 degrees. Earth" temperature (Ift below surface) : 54 degrees. Wind: Light, northerly. Rainfall: 0.01. Weather: Warm, dull. The total rainfall for the month has been 2.74 in., rain having fallen on 12 days. First time freezing point reached, Ist May. First appearance of snow on Tararuas, 23rd May. Nb'ghtts of frost 17, at no time severe. The weather has been very moderate during the whole month.
