WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
MEETING AT CREYTOWN. An ordinary meeting or the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid) Board was held at Grey town yesterday. There were present— Messrs E. G. Eton (chairman), W. Fisher, Murray Jackson, F. W. Rummer, D. J. Cameron, J. W. Murray, R. J. Welch, H. Mori son, W. Moore, H. Cornelius, W. W. McOardle, and A. D. McLeod. Apologies for absence were received from, and leave of absence granted to Messrs R. F. R. Beetkiin, J. C. Ewington, G. F. Bennett and A. J. Speedy. The Treasurer's report showed a credit balance at date of £1384 17s 9d, made up as follows: Ordinary maintenance account, £lll4 13s lOd; South Wiairarapa. Building Fund ac- i count, £270 3s lid.— On the motion of Mr Fisher, seconded by Mr Murray Jackson, the report was adopted. A communication was received from the Inspector-General of Hospitals, inviting the Board to send. delegates to the ■conference of representatives of Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards, wihich" is to be held at Wellington on June 27rfch. It was resolved that the following delegates be appointed by this Board:— j Messrs E. G. Eton (chairman), J. B. J Keith (chairman Masterton Hospital and Charitable Aid Committee), Ma' J. D. Wilson (chairman Pahiatua Hospital Committee), Mr H. Morison (chairman South Wairarapa. Hospital Committee), Mr W. Fisher, (member of the Board, and also of the Masterton Hospital Committee), and Mr N. D. Bunting (secretary to the Board.)
A letter in reference to the matter of .tihe issue of hospital tickets to Lodge members was received from the secretary of the Pallia tu a Hospital Committee, and after discussion it was resolved that for the future no hospital tickets for free maintenance in hospitals under the Board's control be issued.
The matter of a complaint in regard to the treatment of a native boy at the South Wairarapa Hospital, received from the Department, was referred to, and a report on the matter was received from the Melddcal Superintendent and the Matron. After consideration, it was resolved that the Department be informed that the Board, a-fter due inquiry, can find no foundation for the complaint, the secretary being instructed to forward the papers relating to the case on to the Depart, ment.
Other letters referring to Departmental matters, and matters of detail, were received. Accounts as follows were passed for payment:— Education Department, maintenance Industrial School children, £66 2s 6d ; ' Feather ston. Town Board, charitable aid, April and May; Maintenance, Gyde children to sth Jiuie, £5 ; Balance due architects on contract. £47 4s; Inspectors of Public Health and secretary's salaries. THie reports of the various Hospital Committees working under the Board were received, as also were the reports of Messrs Cairns a<nd Miller, the Board's inspectors of Public Health.
