Mr F. A. Jacobsen, Apiary Instructor of the Department of Agriculture, has been on a visit to Masterton.

Mademoiselle Antonia Dolores, who recently visited Masterton, concluded a most successful tour at the Auckland Choral Hall on Tuesday evening, 'when hundreds were unable to gain admission. Mdlle. leaves Wellington for Australia on Friday.

Mr Jeremiah O'Meara, of Feilding, was a visitor to Masterton yesterday.

Mr H. A. Nevins, of Tenui, has been elected a Vice-President of the Wellington Provincial Executive of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. Messrs W. B. Matheson and T. Moss (Eketahuna), T. Quirke (Pahiatua), and Hugh Morrison (Masterton), have been elected members of the Executive Committee.

At St. Matthew's Church, Masterton, yesterday, Mr E. Gray, of Moroa, Greytown, was married to Miss M. Thompson, of Morrison's Bush. A brother of the Ijride acted as best man, and two sisters as bridesmaids. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Watson.

Tho wedding of Mr J. K. Edie, headmaster of the Martinborough State School, to Miss-Christine Picot, only daughter of Mr John Picot, of Thorndon Quay, Wellington, was celebrated at St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral on Monday.

Mr C. D. Barker, of the Dannevirko branch of New South Wales, has received notice of his transference to Sydney. He will leave Dannevirke towards the end of the present week.

Mr R. M'Callum, solicitor, Blenheim, will contest the Wairau seat at the forthcoming election in the interests of the present Government. Mr Dan Love, of Waikawa, Marlborough, will, it is stated, be a candidate for the Southern Maori electorate, at present represented by Mr T. Parata.

One of Wangamii's oldest settlers in the person of Mrs George Caiman, senr,, passed away on Saturday afternoon. She had gone on a visit to her youngest daughter at Dargaville, and after a short illness, died. The deceased had been a resident of Wanganui for about 55 years, and passed through all the troublesome times of the Maori war.
