DEFENCE CONGRESS
A PROMINENT SUCCESS.
BRITAIN'S FIRM RESOLVE
■(Received Last Night, 10.40 o'clock.)
LONDON, May 31
The Conference between the overseas Premiers and the Imperial Defence Committee has concluded. Whatever otiher results the Conference mtay achieve, its deliberations on the question of defence -will stand out ais a prominent .success. A good understanding was estab* lished, after an excellent exposition of Britain's foreign policy. The Committee apparently made it clear that apart from any assistance the overseas Dominions may render, Britain would not deviate from hor resolve to maintain the defence and integrity of every part of the Empire single-handedly.
