THE BUCHANAN HOME.
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ACCEPTED. At a. special meeting of the Wairarapa Hospkal and Charitable Aidi Board at Greytoivn yesterday, the plans and specifications for the proposed Buchanan Home for Incurables were placed on the table for the consideration and diseus.sioii of the Board, it ihaving been stated that the same 'had been previously approved by the donor (Mr Buchanan) and by Dr Voliniine (inspector-General of Hospitals.) After, discussion by .members of the Board, and an explanation of tlie plans and specifications, in detail by Mr Bacon, on the motion of Mr MoCardle, seconded by Mr Fisher, it was resolved that the same be approved.
On the motion of Mr MoLeod, seconded by Mr Cornelius, it was resolved that tenders for the erection, of the work be invited up to Ist July, the plans and specifications to be open for inspection in the meantime at the offices of Mr A. L. Webster, (key-town; Mr N. D. Bunting, Exchange Buildings, Masterton; and Messrs Atkins and Bacon, architects, Wellington. It was also resolved that the architects be instructed to draft plans and specifications for the construction of a septic tank of sufficient capacity ffior the requirements and the needs of the whole of the South Wairarapa Hospital Buildings. The time allowed for the completion of the contract was fixed at' eight months.
It was resolved to advertise the tenders in the Masterton, Carterton and Wellington papers. The matter of the opening and consideration of tenders for the erection of the proposed buildings wa.s irelegated to the Board's Finance Ooniimittee.
