TECHNICAL WOOL CLASSES.

TOP-DRESSING OF SOILS. Mr E. L. Lees, the instructor ial the wool classes to the Master ton' Technical School, is at present in t3iQ district. He is arranging a series of experiments- at Bideford: and Te Wlharau, and probably in the neighbourhood of Masterton, with a vae'Wi to demonstrating the effect upon wool-production of the top-dressing of pastures. Arrangements have been made for the supervision of the experiments, and the results will b# watdhed with considerable interest. Mr Lees, in conversation with a representative of the Age, expressed the emphatic opinion that much could be done in this district by the judicious treatment of the pastures, to improve both the output and quality of the wool.
