FARMERS' BACON COMPANY.
THE STATUTORY MEETING. The statutory meeting of the Wellington Farmers' Bacon Company, was held at Eketahuna on Thursday, Mr J. C. Cooper presiding over an attendance of about twenty. The annual report was as follows: — The total number of shares allotted by the Company is 532 shares of £5 each, representing a nominal value of £2660, all of which have been allotted subject to tho payment of the full nominal amount thereof in cash. The total amount of cash received by the Company in respect of the said shares is £361 10s. Tho following is an abstract of receipts and payments on Capital Account to the date of this report: Receipts, cash received on application and allotment and exchange, £360 10s 6d; expenditure, exchange, Is 9d; commission, £95 15s; legal and travelling expenses, printing etc., £B6 7s sd; total, £lB3 Is 2d; balance, £179 9s 4d. Mr Cooper, in moving the adoption of the report, pointed out that tho amount of capital required had been over-subscribed by at lease £2O0 —a very satisfactory state of affairs. Instructions had been given to draft plans, but they had not been accepted, pending the appointment of a director. He urged upon those present the necessity of pulling together in support of the new works. He formally moved the adoption of the report-, which was agreed to. Mr A. McFarlane was appointed director, and Mr G. Sellar auditor. The question of the director's remuneration was discussed, and it was decided only to allow him his travelling expenses. The meeting terminated with a vote of thank to the Chairman.
