Wilkesnson was in tlie adt of dismounting from his cycle, whan ho got under the feet of the .horses attached to;the drag, and the vehicle passed over him. It was at once seen that he was badly injured. A j messenger was despatched for Dr. Cowie, of Masterton, who proceeded j to the scene of the accident in his . motor car. The injured mian was brought to his home in Masterton, . wfhere it was discovered tOiat he toad j sustained severe contusions about ih& body, two broken ribs, and more.l or less serious injuries to his head. TJhe wounds were dressed by Dr Cowie, and enquiries made late last nigh* stowed that the man was progressing 'as favourably as could be expected.
