MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Master-ton sale, held at the Solway yards yesterday, as follows: We offered a heavy yarding of cattle, over 500 being submitted, including 235 well Lrtd good quality cattle from Te Awa-.te Station, wihicih were greasy admired, and satisfaction was expressed b"«buyers at the manner in which the;were drafted. Competition under the hammer was spirited for the whole of this entry, and prices t< s3ised were satisfactory te- vendors. Other 'bullocks were not so keeniy competed for, and were rather oast in the shade compared to the ethers*. They were, (however, disposed of afterwards up to vendors' anticipations, and we have to report a t'.T-al clearance. Our entry of sheep was; confined to half a dozen lots of wethers, empty ewes and lambs, whicn, on Ah© -whole, did not sell as w-'H I as *he previous week. Quotations' were as follow: 71 forward bullocks (Te Awaite) £7 7s; 51 3vr steers (Te Awaite) £6 7s 6d; i'l 2yr steers (T e Awaite) £4, 12s 6d; ot'h ers, £4 10s; fat cows (Table : .indsy, , £8 and £6 Is for lighter sorts; i+ler > bullocks, £5 12s 6d, £5 15s, ?5 ?7s | 6d to £6. Empty ewes, (400) 6s fd; othtjrs, 7s; woolly lambs, 9s 6d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report ->f their weekly sale, held at Ma.3 + -orton yesterday:— We submitted a pood entry in all classes of sheep. The quality was mostly good, and we s,re able to report a clearance at slight!v advanced nates. Prime fat ewes made 13s 9d; medium, 12s, lis; very forward ewes, 9s to 10s; medium empty ewes, 7s to 8s 6d. A good line of wethers'made 12s 9d. Besc lambs, 10s; others, 9s, 8s; small, 5s to 6s; small 2-tooth, 9s to 9s 9d; forward cows, 60s.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their usual weekly sale at Solway yesterday as follows: All advertised lines came forward m both cattle-and sheep, and they report .practically a total- clearance. The yarding of sheep was practically lambs and wethers, but prices wee 'not up,to late rates, and vendors m a number of instances had to lower their reserves to enable sales to be made. -The cattle entry comprised all descriptions, and prices were well up to late rates. Quotations- are as follows: Shorn wether lambs, "s to 8s; woolly lambs, good, 9s to 10s; medium sorts, 6s 6d to 8s 6d; cull lambs, Is 7d, 3s lOd to 4s 10d; f.f.m. ewes in iamb, 'Bs 6d to 10? lOd; f.m. empty ewes to.6s 6d; 2tooth wethers (small) 9s 6d to 10s lOd; f.m. empty to 6s 6d; 2tooth wethers (sctnail) 9s 6d to . 10s lOd; fat cows and heifers, £5 6s, Ho 16s to £6; em.pt ytforward heifers, £4 15s to £5; 3yr steers .to £6 13 3; 2yr steers, £4 lis; cows, to £5 03.
JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. (By Telegraph—Special to the Age.) JOHNSONVILLE, Last Night. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their sale held at Johinsonville on Wednesday, as follows: The usual entries of beef came forward, consisting of good quality, well-finished ox, which sold at prices ranging from £9 17s 6d to £ll 0s 6d for the heaviest, and £9" 10s to £9 15s for medium weights. Two pens of nice quality light weight bullocks made from £8 7s 6d to £8 IQs. A medium entry of sheep, consisting principally of ewes of very average quality, _did not meet with a very brisk demand, and several kinds were passed. The wiliole entry, however, changed hands before the end of the day at the following quotations:— Wethers, 16s 2d to j to 16s 6d; Ibest ewes, 14s to 14s 8d; others, 13s to 13s. 6d; light ewes, I 10s 7d to 12s lOd; prime lambs, 12s ! 4d and 12s sd; others, 9s to 10s.
