Mr Lewis, of Buluwayo, who shot a native for making indecent overtures to his littlo girl, went into a newspaper office and caused the native news hoys to be paraded. Ho identified one and accused him of making overtures to his girls. He then marched the native to a vacant ground behind the newspaper office, and shot him dead. Ho surrendered himself to the police, and was charged with murder and released on £3OOO bail.
Public opinion is entirely favourable to his release.
