ANNUAL SOCIAL AND DANCE.
The annual social and dance of the Masterton Fire Police washelS in the Exchange The part of the : evening was occupied witb> a progressive euchre tournament, which was a very enjoyable one. The ladies' /prize was won by Mrs Proctor,< while. Mrs Consta-ble.was ?v jthe boobyi; The gentleman to win the most games was Mr P. Moersch, and the booby, prize was carried off by Mr R. DayshDancing was indulged in until the early hours of the morning. The floor, was in splendid order for dancing, and the temperature was very favourable. Very good music was supplied by Mr and Mrs Watson, which added greatly to the pleasure of the eveningA sumptuous supper was provided by the ladies committee, which consisted of Mesdames Butcher, C. Braggins, Constable, Flanagan, and Stewart.
A word of praise is due to the secretary, Mr W. Palamontain, who hao! the arrangements very complete. A most enjoyable evening was brought to a close by the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
