THE PARK LAKE.

AND THE NORTHERN A. r»ROACH. At the meeting of the Masterton Borough Council last evening, Or Ewington drew attention to the fact that the removal of soil for the construction of the northern approaches, was causing the water to be diverted from the Park Lake. He thought there was a danger of the water being permanently diverted from the lake.

Or Prentice abated that the lake had cost the Council over ! £IOOO, and they should see that the water was conserved. If a private individual were to divert water from aeother, he would' be open to an action for damages. The Mayor recognised that the matter was an important one. He would -secure a report from the Engineer on the subject.
